The building has a new owner while the area is slowly abandoned
From growth to abandonment
In the second half of the 20th century the ownership of the Manifattura Tabacco (tabacco factory) changed multiple times: from the State Monopolies Authority, to the Italian Tobacco Board to the BAT (British American Tobacco).
Each carried out additional construction works until the completion and subsequent restructuring of the area: but the changes and evolution of the global tobacco market and the withdrawal of the Italian State intervention in industrial activities, led to a steady reduction in business.
